This is a modern farmhouse, remodel, ground up using the existing footprint, accounting for a site that slopes almost 10' from end to end, breezes, sun, rainwater collection and a very tight budget. The 1940's footprint remained a square box with new lap siding. The addition and new interior walls all are rotated 5 degrees in various directions to allow for opening up of the spaces, views, enlarging areas and creating interest. An old pecan tree had to be removed to build the addition, it was saved, slabbed, and that tree are the shelves in the kitchen, powder and are the cabinets and shelves that flank the rolled steel clad fireplace. This home has been chosen for commercial/print campaign shoots.
